Hello, you ray of sunshine! I hope you are feeling as grateful as I am today! I have to shed some light on a few things that have taken place this past week. First and foremost, my in-laws have come and gone. I know what you’re thinking, but surprisingly I’m not happy they left to return to their home in Wisconsin. My in-laws spent their entire twelve days in VA to help my husband, and I settle in our new home. They helped us in the yard, they built shelving for storage, they helped us with electrical work, and even helped paint! Not to mention all the tools they gave us. My husband and I are forever grateful for their hard work! My in-laws probably saved us about five years of work.
Hey, gorgeous! How’s life? Let’s talk about my hair today. My hair has been a HOT MESS for the past few months!! Last October, I colored my hair a bit darker which looked perfectly fine, but because I’m crazy for blonde, after just a few weeks of wearing the darker shade, I was back to my normal sunny blonde hair. I typically don’t change my hair color very often, so I wasn’t concerned at all about the integrity of it. To my surprise, my hair took a turn for the worse! There were more strands in my brush than ever before, and my ends were BRITTLE.
I’d like to know where time goes? We are half way through the month of June, and I feel I’m still processing May. I can’t stop thinking about these statistics I heard from a sermon on a podcast last week. The stats are based on how the average American spends their time.
Hey, guys! I’m soaking in every ray of sunshine on my weekend off from work. I love not working. If I didn’t have bills to pay, I would not work. Instead, I would fill my days doing great things and blogging about it. I could never be bored. I hear a lot from people, especially those that are close to retirement, they would not know what to do with their time off. I cannot relate to them. In my eyes, they are from another planet.
Good Monday to you! How was your weekend? Are you getting out there and doing fun stuff? I worked all weekend. Most people in D.C. work Monday through Friday and are unable to make it to the salon during the week. That leaves Saturday’s and Sunday’s to be their time to get to the salon. Lucky me, if I want to make money I have to be available during those days. I’ve always worked Saturday’s, but never Sunday’s until recently. Since being a new homeowner, all I want is everything from the Crate & Barrel catalog for my house. I can’t expect my husband to work all the time, which he already does, so I had to step up and suck it up.
As a hairstylist, I get the pleasure of hearing what’s on my client’s minds. Most of the talk is fun and informative because I have the coolest clientele, but some of the talk makes me roll my eyes. Last week I had a client in my chair tell me she has to lose twenty pounds by September for her wedding. Twenty pounds in three months is a high goal to reach. Riiiight?! Read more →
Well, gooooood Monday guys! I’m just going to jump right into it. For the last three weeks, I’ve been dealing with the most horrid rash on my arms and legs. I got the rash in my backyard from the evilest plant on the planet called poison ivy. I don’t wish poison ivy on my worst enemy. I hope none of you ever have to experience what I just went through. Be careful out there and keep an eye out for the three-leafed devil!
Well, folks, I was true to my word and had a successful week of clean eating! I finally kicked myself into gear. I’m a tough cookie to break. I think I have a very addictive personality because all my mental strength goes into breaking a bad habit. The key is to replace the bad habit with a good habit. For example, this past week I substituted my after dinner munchies with tea and an orange, or I just cut myself off completely. Sounds easy enough, although I was fighting myself on every good decision I was making.
Why is it that on your day off from work you set yourself a mile long to-do list and none of it gets done?! I had that kind of day last week. I blame my failures entirely on the crappy weather. Colder temperatures and rain put me in a crummy mood. Everything I tried to accomplish was such a struggle. By the time I finished cooking dinner, I was thinking how I should have spent my day binge watching Netflix. I would have had a much needed chill, zen day.
Gooooood morning! I Hope you are off to an awesome start this Monday! The weeks have been flying by since we bought the house. Six weeks already! In six weeks we unpacked most of our boxes, painted the living room, white washed the brick fireplace, planted fifty trees, bought a mower, and had our first visit from the plumber.
