I’m ecstatic to be celebrating one year of blogging! I wish I could have hit the undo button right then! Haha, I’m kidding. I love my website. I also love you for your support! As some of you know, Okinawa is the heart of B-BEAUTEOUS. The three years I lived on the tiny island were the best years of my life. It’s like night and day seeing my transformation from taking my first steps on island to my last steps.
I thought I knew what beauty and wellness were because my education in cosmetology had everything to do with it! I was so full of it. I was a smoker, a drinker, and a moderate junk eater. If you didn’t know me before island life, you would be totally shocked by the old me. Change occurred when I immersed myself into the Okinawan culture. After all, Okinawans have the longest life expectancy! Their secret lies in their food and their attitude towards life.
I ate where the locals ate, and I shopped the farmer’s markets, and before I knew it I was addicted to seaweed and sashimi! The air was far too humid to smoke, so I swapped cigarettes for running. Runs along the seawall became therapeutic which lead to my first marathon, running side by side with the Okinawans. The more aware of how I was treating my body, the more appreciative I became of my surroundings.
I lived surrounded by the bluest ocean. Looking at it just wasn’t enough. I got scuba certified which was incredibly terrifying, yet the most rewarding experience. My motive to get through the course was to swim with the whale sharks. My mind practically exploded in awe, swimming along with these magnificent mammals. My confidence sky rocketed, and I knew that taking risks was the best thing for me to grow.
I launched B-BEAUTEOUS to encourage you to live life bravely and allow the unexpected. I believe life changing circumstances good or bad prepare us for future events. That’s why taking care of ourselves in the kitchen and at the gym is so important for our well-being.
I’m thrilled to continue this next chapter with you! I have so much more I want to share. Don’t ever hesitate to leave a comment on a post or email me directly at email@example.com.
