It’s Crunch Time

I advise you to go ahead and skip this week’s post because it has a bit of a negative tone to it! I need to vent for a minute and I will be over it. I feel like a flabby slob these days. I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster for the last month and as a result of it, I’ve been eating so poorly. I’ve lost sight of my goals and frankly, It’s Crunch Time! I’m moving across country next month and my levels of excitement are at an all time high.
I haven’t seen my husband for two weeks and have yet to wait four more weeks, and I’m without a vehicle, and I have to say goodbye to friends, family, and my hair business. It’s easy to look at the glass half empty, yet I appreciate these rocky times to be grateful for the big picture. I’m grateful I have the best family and friends to be sad to leave. I’m grateful for this new opportunity to start a new life in a new place. I’m grateful I’m only a short two-hour flight from home, versus a seventeen-hour flight from when I lived overseas!
In light of Mother’s Day today, I’m so grateful to my mom for putting up with my craziness! To all moms, thank you for tackling the most important and challenging job in the world. Happy Mother’s Day to you. This afternoon, I treated my mom to a good old- fashioned grilled cheeseburger with the works.
The burger and the traditional American sides you pile high on your plate are not the healthiest foods, and by all means not at all paleo. I allow myself to indulge for special occasions such as today and even as frequently as once a week I eat out and order whatever my heart desires. I love food too much to deprive myself for extended periods of time. I started paleo in 2012, and since then I’ve rewarded myself with a weekly cheat meal. In four years I’ve not gained weight or lost weight. I’ve never restricted myself from alcohol, pizza, ice-cream, pasta, or fried wings. I’ve never starved myself or binged eat. I’m consistent six days a week of eating a healthy balanced diet. During my six days of paleo, I might crave Oreos. I wait for my cheat day to eat my Oreos. After my Oreo treat, I’m satisfied and have moved on to be motivated for the next healthy week.
Even top athletes recommend cheating on your diet once in awhile. See article. Although, at the present moment,  I’ve fallen off the paleo wagon. It’s Crunch Time and off to a healthy start tomorrow! Gotta love Mondays! 🙁

Monday- Crossfit WOD (workout of the day)

Overhead squat 1-1-1-1-1 reps 

Front squat 1-1-1-1-1 reps

Back squat 1-1-1-1-1 reps

Try to increase the load on each of the fifteen sets.

Tuesday- 3 Mile Run

Wednesday- Crossfit WOD

4 4-minute rounds of:

15 wall ball shots, 20-lb. ball to 12-foot target- Video Demo

30 medicine ball cleans, 20-lb. ball- Video Demo

Row for max calories Rest 3 minutes between rounds.

Thursday- Rest Day 🙂

Friday- Crossfit  WOD 

3 Mile Run

Shoulder press 3-3-3-3-3-3-3 reps- Video Demo

Saturday- Crossfit WOD

4 rounds for time of:

Run 400 meters (.25 mile)

5 push-ups
