My muscles are soooooooo incredibly sore right now. I feel like such a wuss complaining about how much I’m hurting every time I get up from sitting or bending over to pick something up. This is the first week in a month I’ve consistently exercised. How can my body be this out of shape already?? What the EFF?!
Set aside my frustrations for a minute, I’m dog sitting for the cutest pup on the planet. For real, though, the darling pup’s name is Cali. All she wants to do is cuddle and snuggle and play with one of her many dozens of tennis balls she collects from the court nearby her house. One afternoon after I finished cleaning my bath and kitchen, I plop on the couch and Cali piles in next to me, and within minutes we are both snoozing the day away. Cali is like a cat dog. She loooooves sleeping. She spends nights in bed with me without making a noise. I’m the one dragging her out of bed in the morning! I’m living half of the time at Cali’s house and the other half at my house. Cali’s house is within minutes to my work so the days I’m working I will spend the night. I totally get the whole pet thing. Now that I have a house, I go back and forth thinking about the pros and cons of having a furry friend. Kind of like having a kid. Not going to lie, I just don’t know if I’m ready to have a pet or a child.
Back to me being pathetically out of shape. Do you ever look at old photos of yourself and remember at the time the picture was taken, you felt fat, and now you think damn I looked good. Well, I’m having that moment right now. As I’m judging myself, I’m catching myself because I know I should be kinder. Although, self-criticism is what drags me out of bed before daylight.
There’s nothing wrong with a little self-awareness of how you can better yourself. As long as you don’t beat yourself up. Just your WOD!
