Workout Week: Summertime

Thank you springtime for your beautiful blossoms and greenery, but summertime is here to shine! Why do we obsess over the weather? Well, I’m obsessing over 88 degrees in Virginia. Unbelievable. This Wisconsin girl loves the heat. Summer is on the brink of arrival whether you like it or not. What do you like or not like about the season? I don’t think we can be friends if you dislike summer! I like that I wear lighter and brighter clothing. I like farmers markets. I like that the days are longer. I like having glowing sun-kissed skin. I like beaches. I like everything about summer!

This sounds really gross, but during the summer months, I like being extra sweaty post workout because I know I earned it! Ewwwww haha. I’m feeling fantastic these days now that I’m exercising regularly. I’m putting in double time with workouts because I have a yard to maintain. Over the weekend my husband and I dug and planted fifty trees! I also spent a couple of hours weeding and digging old shrubs out from the ground. Phew. I love outdoor work, although I’m developing a crazy farmer’s tan I have to correct. Remember last week I was complaining about how sore my muscles were from having to start over with my workouts? Well, I’m still sore, and I realized I still have most of my strength left! Thank goodness I’m not completely in the hole. Looking forward to finishing this week strong!
