Workout Week

SURPRISE! I’m back after being MIA all summer long. Difficult to believe it’s the end of Labor Day weekend. My summer was super busy. I’m exhausted from the excitement of my move across the country, working my new job, and squeezing in a couple of mini-trips to NYC. I’m in need to recharge my battery. In the midst of my crazy life, I’ve been mostly good about eating healthy and keeping to my workouts. Although, the last couple of weeks I’ve been slacking. I realized that I need my blog to hold myself accountable. I’ve missed venting, and I’ve missed my motivational pep talks. I need my blog for me! If anyone else finds my blog helpful is incredibly inspirational to keep me going with exercising and writing about it.

Transitioning from summer to autumn is my favorite time of year. The weather is cooler, coffee is stronger, and jeans feel sexy. I’m sluggish in the summertime. The second fall time arrives I can inhale the fresh air and immediately feel rejuvenated. I think my love for fall stems back to meeting my husband. Football season just began, and sweatshirts were a must have for a late night stroll. It was the most cheesy romantic time for us.
This Labor Day weekend we spent at Sharp Rock Vineyards in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Rows of vineyards perfectly aligned running parallel to each other rolling up and down in sync with the hills. A picturesque landscape to remember. Not only did we enjoy acres of vineyards and an unlimited supply of wine, but we also enjoyed the B&B on the premises. We spent the night in a two-story cottage that was built in the 1790’s. Our morning began with a bright orange sunrise and coffee in hand. We filled our bellies with a tray full of fresh fruit and warm bakery. After breakfast, we ventured through the Shenandoah National Park. Up and up we drove, winding around, spiraling up around the mountain. We parked at Hawksbill stop to hike a mile uphill to reach the highest peak of the Blue Ridge Mountain range. Jaw dropping views.
I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end my summer and begin a new season. A change of season calls for new goals and achievements. Let’s do this September!
